HOW TO TAME YOUR CURLY FRIZZY HAIR
Did you know that curly and coily hair has a natural porosity? The twist and bends in the hair cause the cuticle to lift leaving gaps on the hair’s surface, which can make your curls more prone to frizz. That’s why we’ve developed products specifically for frizzy, curly hair. Use this super quick how-to guide to give your curls and coils the good stuff to help them look defined and frizz free.
Frizzy hair is dry hair
Curly hair is naturally porous, which makes it hard for curly hair to hold onto moisture, so it may need extra TLC and moisture. If you’re seeing lots of frizz, that might be your cue to dial up the hydrating products. Put down your regularly scheduled shampoo and conditioner in favor of something a little deeper, a little richer, and a whole lot more moisturizing. See below for our product recs!
The weather can bully our strands
Do your curls have trouble weathering the weather? We get that. Here’s a non-conclusive list of all weather events that can cause frizz: wind, rain, heat, cold, humidity, dry air... you know what? Unless we’re talking a delightfully perfect spring day, your ‘do may turn into a don’t when you walk out the door, no matter the season. But instead of waiting inside all year, the best things you can do is to keep your hair moisturized (see above) and protect your strands with hats, scarves, protective hairstyles, and products designed to quench your curls (see below).
